Contractor Management
The key to UKGN's success is the expertise it can leverage from its contractor base. Committed to working directly with 'the man on the van', UKGN is in the enviable position of being able to work with local specialists that are able to provide the very highest levels of local service to your customers. These local contractors rely on their reputation to continue to operate and by undertaking a narrow range of works become highly proficient at completing jobs quickly and to a high standard.
By using specialists, you can be assured that every job is completed correctly and in a timely manner - they are familiar with older and obsolete units and are able to source unusual parts from their regular local suppliers. As a consequence, they operate efficiently and with little waste and can pass on the benefit in the form of more error free jobs and lower costs.

UKGN's contractor selection process is extensive and exceeds the requirements set out by the
FSAFinancial Services Authority. An initial paper based application pack is completed by the contractor and indicates whether the contractor can meet the minimum standards, skills and geographic coverage required by UKGN. Successful contractors are then invited to complete a second application pack that thoroughly probes every aspect of their business from quality and capability assessments to health and safety and environmental performance. Finally, UKGN's Contractor Management team undertake an extensive site audit which will include a number of closed file assessments and visits to works in progress.
UKGN also take account of softer partnership skills. Contractors are evaluated on their willingness to embrace the UKGN approach to insurance claims resolution and desire to continuously improve. In this way, UKGN has created a network of contractors with common working methods, aspirations and a mutual respect for all parties involved.

Once approved, the contractor will be subjected to a 100% closed file audit for the first month of operation, 50% in month two and 25% in month three. Thereafter closed file audits are undertaken on 10% of all cases and UKGN's case management system continuously monitors performance to service standards.
Quarterly reviews and annual site visits continue for the life of the relationship, with a named contractor manager taking full responsibility for the performance of a contractor under their stewardship.
